Nigeria’s national bank introduces biometric measures against fraud

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will introduce biometric security systems as part of their efforts to prevent fraud and to revolutionize their payment system. This project will cost the bank around 50 million dollars.

With the introduction of this system, clients will only need to be identified by their fingerprints.

CBN director Mallam Sanusi has stated that they plan to collect biometric data from all of their clients within the next 18 months.
