Dropbox joins Apple’s touch ID to protect customer information

Dropbox has added a new application, available to all customers using the cloud storage service.

Users of iPhone 6 or 6 Plus may access their Dropbox account applying the Apple fingerprint identification. This way, they can protect confidential documents stored in the cloud from their iPhone or iPad in a better way.

Dropbox joins Apple's touch ID to protect customer information

Dropbox has updated its iOS app so owners of iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can now easily protect any document stored in Dropbox.

To use the system, the fingerprint ID Touch application must be available on the device. Dropbox for iOS should be update to version 3.5. The application uses an access code of 4 digits. The costumer can use the same passcode that has been created for the iPhone or one completely different.

This new application protects documents stored at Dropbox specifically, preventing others from accessing private documents. Using this biometric key, documents from any device with touch ID application can be accessed.
