Cognitive fingerprints could strengthen password usage

A study carried out at the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) provided important insights on the usage of «cognitive fingerprints» as a means to perfect password-based authentication.

Cognitive fingerprints employs unique patterns of action to solve problems and finds out whether a user is the true owner of an account, or, on the contrary, a imposter.

The procedure makes use of covert games, for which the user will develop strategies unconsciously. The system will then analyze the specific singularities of the user and detect if an imposter is trying to avoid them.
