Canada will implement biometric identification systems in its borders

The prime minister of Canada has announced new measures to fight terrorism, including the use of biometric authentication to all travelers who need a visa to enter the country. The government will make sure that privacy standards are met.

There will be an investment of $ 312.6 million for the extent of the existing program to be applied to all foreign nationals entering Canada on a visa by 2018.

Travelers coming from 151 countries including tourists, students, refugees or immigrants, must submit fingerprints and digital photos to Canadian authorities for screening in their visa applications, and be matched upon their arrival at ports of entry.
