The US Department of Defense has published an announcement seeking information on a mobile biometrics ID system for Eastern European ally Bulgaria.
According to the Bulgaria’s Ministry of Defense, the system is needed to support Bulgaria’s military police in NATO-led operations.
The system will be implemented in three Bulgarian cities: Sofia, Plovdiv, and the Novo Selo Training Area.
Incorporation of a mobile automatic biometric Identification system will enable collection, storage, search and sharing of data such as fingerprints, iris and facial images along with other contextual data.
The request includes a multifunctional handheld device with installed software and licenses for biometrics data including fingerprints, iris, and face, among other requirements.
